NHL All-Star Game
Team North America has won the annual NHL All-Star game with a score of 14-12. Game MVP was Connor McDavid.
A native of Canada, Connor McDavid was originally drafted to the NHL by the Edmonton Oilers in the 1st round of the 2015 entry draft. He has appeared in 268 NHL games during his career, notching 103 goals and adding 174 assists along with 53 penalty minutes. The 22 year old center has played 59 games with the Edmonton Oilers this season, totalling 26+32=58 with 5 PIM.
NHL All-Star Skill Competitions
The annual All-Star event kicked off today with the skill competitions. Team North America and Team World competed in six different races and the fans got to see their stars shine.
Team World won the puck control relay with a team of Nikita Kucherov, Evgeni Malkin and Patrik Laine.
Jack Eichel of Team North America won the fastest skater competition, beating Hampus Lindholm in the final.
Evgeni Malkin of Team World won the hardest shot competition with a result of 89 MPH, beating Colton Parayko in the final.
Jacob Trouba of Team North America won the accuracy shooting competition, beating Alex Ovechkin in the final.
Braden Holtby of Team North America won the goalie competition (pass&score), beating Sergei Bobrovsky in the final.
Team World won the breakaway relay with a team of Alex Ovechkin, Evgeni Malkin and Vladimir Tarasenko.
The yearly clash between Team North America and Team World will take place tomorrow.
